limited nice price blow out ... disconet was created as subscription program service, which professionally selected and mixed disco music for discotheque djs, mobile discos and radio stations. disconet is called as the granddaddy of all remix services and provided mixed/segued dj dance sets, not only to make the djs job a little bit easier, but to expose club goers to new music. the djs spinning at the height of the disco era were given access to a new creative tool - a different interpretation of current dance tunes to wow club goers. originally, the disconet records were to be issued on a monthly basis which were limited to 1000 - 1500 copies of each volume. the first disconet record was released in october 1977. disconet team at that time was: tom savarese, bobby dj guttadaro and kevin guilmet as well as mike wilkinson. tom, bobby and kevin were dj legends, who had already been awarded with the dj of the year title by billboard. these greatest hits volumes contain their finest work, the original licensed disco edits of all the floor fillers of the time that have been re issued for your listening pleasure. expect many more volumes in the near future.

daniel savio - the swede who coined the term “skwee” back in 2006 when the first odd-sounding electro-funked and tempo-twirling 7inches came about from finland and sweden. his 6-track record for laton consists of true-to-the-game skwee sounds and rhythms incl. oriental-like melodies that has been penetrating the genre for years. harmonic in melody, diverse in tempo from the originator. laton presents some of the proprietors of skwee & the phenomenon of this fennoscandian sound with three different 12inches and a lp compilation. “holtiton” was originally released in 2012, limited and is back on demand.

mannequin records is proud to present a double lp and cd compilation of one of the most important industrial bands active during the 80s in the uk. bourbonese qualk were an experimental music group from england who where active from 1979 until 2003. throughout this period they had a number of different line-ups but this album concentrates on the period from 1983 until 1987 with the trio of simon crab, julian gilbert and steven tanza. during this time the group released five albums: laughing afternoon, hope, the spike, preparing for power and the self-titled bourbonese qualk on their own recloose organisation and new international records labels.

yet another thrilling adventure lead by transatlantyk, a label who specialises in discerning journeys into dancefloors of the world.

for skylax 140, damien zala, of rowtag records fame, brings the heat with a new 6 track ep. it kicks off with an absolutely mad remix of * looking for the sun* by detroit legend, anthony shake shakir. the attention to detail is clear when it comes to someone who has been in the game for so long, and the rework he has done for damiens track is no exception. * the final break* is damiens first original on the record. a skippy, staccato affair in both its percussion and its disco/funk/soul sampling. *beauty is back* is damien taking things down a jazzier route, with a piano laden jazz sample and shuffling drums to match.on the flip, * always young* is an audacious disco edit, sampling such a treasured song that many would consider untouchable, luckily, damien works his magic to make an edit which gets people moving without being obvious. the ep closes out with * emotions* and the original version of * looking for the sun*, barely recognisable from the anthony shakir remix, in the best possible way! sweet & dirty indeed, dont miss this offering by the one and only damien zala.

it s a big honor that the former member and -minister of information- of underground resistance from detroit alan oldham aka dj t-1000 does a remix for this release. living between berlin and detroit, alan is a mastermind in electronic music and has pitched this track to a strong minimal -detroit meets berlin- version. the gunman remix is a more dramatic sub bass story. with snipped parts of the sigrid elliot vocals, a volumized organ and fx sounds, gunman gives you a blast for the dancefloor peak time. simon beeston, a music lover from new zealand who s also living in berlin, does a deep remix. with drums and a nice sub bass, he s showing his style.

get physicals first delivery for 2015 is, yet again, an ep that strays a bit off the beaten track. for this last installment, gpm290, junge junge has called upon australian native kyle pearce to set some velvety vocals to a toned-down, bittersweet delight of a track. the ‚beautiful girl ep opens with its namesake creation, a thumb piano-laden tune decorated by some seriously smoky singing just waiting to transport you far away. its followed by a handful of distinct reworkings, by audiofly who take on a dub remix and spins the song on its head to give it a new psychedelic identity. meanwhile, blond:ish throws it into darker terrain only to have the ‚beautiful girl lifted up by junge junge once again thanks to a slightly different version that turns it into danceable am epic by way of some wisely-placed kicks and claps.

james freud is not the deceased singer of the australian new wave band the models. james freud is not a young art-school dropout with an affinity for electronic music. james freud does not live in berlin - he seems to come out of the blue and it is hard to say whether his production is analogue or digital, whether it is sampled material or sound design. because of the strange maturity of his work the tracks seem to come from both the past and the future. thanks to the digging-qualities of dj good news (who runs the hamburg poem-label) a selection of james freuds oeuvre is now brought to light through the 12inch 5-track extended play - to cut a long story short: mental futurism is wise optimism.

happy skulls first release of 2015 comes from uk based artist creta kano, who first impressed with his 2013 debut on rotterdam’s pinkman records. he showcases his highly melodious and deeply textured sound across three tracks for the bristol imprint. *skyway motel* is an emotive, detroit inspired amalgamation of warm chords and rolling drum machine rhythms. the tracks romantic qualities are emphasised on *skyway 81*, a screwed, pitched-down version that re-casts the original as a serotonin fuelled slow jam. *false water* completes the package. a sprawling trip in to broken techno territory, reminiscent of 90s era rephlex.
